Houston Residents are complaining that there new apartments aren't in move-in ready condition once they are scheduled to take possession of the unit. One such account was given by a resident who for the second time recently moved into an apartment only to find that the apartment had not been touched by the landlord since the last tenant moved-out.
According to Jo, I thought the first apartment I moved in was found dirty was a fluke. But then I moved in to a second apartment with another landlord with a different management company and found that the apartment wasn't move-in ready as well.
"You'd think they could spring for a maid to do a once over befor handing over the keys. She further asked, is this the norm? I am paying over a grand a month for one, not in the most expensive spot but it is not cheap."
Other apartment dwellers chimed in about their experiences with uncleaned showers, toliets and dirty floors. Janine said, "A Move-in Ready should be the norm...however, landlords are becoming lazu because no one holds them accountable. Also people should take pride in something they own because it is a reflection of them. This is how you should welcome people especially when they move and that is to see a clean place."
